Farm Tour with Alpaca Walk

We are open year-round, every day. The alpacas don’t mind the weather and we bundle up, grab some rain gear, and keep up with the alpacas’ way of life. We might stay longer in the barn, or under the trees, or go for a shorter walk. We make it work and you will have at least one hour of alpaca quality time.

First we visit the alpacas in the pasture or barn. Every guest will receive a container with alpaca treats to feed the alpacas. We will tell you everything we know about alpacas in general and introduce you to our herd of about 40 alpacas. We have lots of stories about our four-legged friends. They all have their own personality and quirks. They are shy, funny, demanding, and all-around magical.

Then we take our alpacas on a leash for walks down the country road. We train them very carefully for this activity. Not all alpacas will do this.  Of the 40 alpacas we have about 10 who feel comfortable enough to come for walks with us. We take up to 6 at a time with us.  Bigger groups will have to take turns and share.

The walk is about 1 km long. If our guests don’t feel like walking that far, we stay closer to the farm and go for short walks around the house or just visit with them in the backyard. We can adjust easily to every group’s needs and requirements.

Farm Stay

Included in your stay is an alpaca walk, feeding alpacas in the morning and,  weather permitting, a bonfire at night.

Things to know:

  • The Bunkie sleeps 4 people and you are welcome to add a tent for more space or 2 more people.

  • The bunkie is well insulated and has heat in the winter and AC in the summer.

  • In the winter the main bed, kingsize, is in the loft with full bedding and two chairs that fold out into cots on the main floor with sleeping bags.

  • In the summer the main floor has a double bed with full bedding and the loft can be used with sleeping bags.

  • We can provide sleeping bags if needed.

  • The washroom with shower is in the fibre studio, in the  farmhouse and always accessible of course, but open to the public during business hours.

  • There is a fire pit for a bonfire and sitting areas for you to enjoy, relax, and watch the alpacas and stars at night. Firewood is provided at no extra cost.

  • The patio has a charcoal and propane BBQ for your use. We provide charcoal and propane at no extra cost.

  • The alpaca walk is included in your stay. We can head out anytime after 4:30 pm until at least 30 mins before sunset or in the morning at 8:30 am after feeding the alpacas.

  • Please keep in mind it is still “camping”, also with A/C, heat and bedding. You will need your own cooler, dishes etc.
